The Jon Larson Memorial Fund provides grants of up to $1,000 per year to disadvantaged young people to attend Outward Bound Experiential Learning, Expedition School or Outdoor Leadership programs, or programs of education whose values are consistent with Quaker principles.

The fund was established by Susan and Don Larson in memory of their son Jon, an outdoorsman who enjoyed scouting and hiking and appreciated the character development, self-discovery, and leadership skills that are nurtured by outdoors experiences.

The fund is administered by a subcommittee of Swarthmore Meeting’s Peace and Social Concerns Committee. Applications should be as specific as possible and include the amount requested.
