Listening to that of God in Ourselves and Others, Part 2

In this second of two sessions on devoted to listening to spiritual messages, our member Nancy Saunders will focus on supporting our ability to listen to others in a spiritually present and compassionate way.  Nancy trained at the Focusing Institute in New York City. After nearly 30 years as a psychologist in private practice, she has come to believe that often the most healing approach to another person’s pain is simply to listen with sensitivity and compassion. The techniques of Focusing were developed by Eugene Gendlin, a professor of philosophy and psychology at the University of Chicago, based on his experiences attending Meeting for Worship at Pendle Hill, a Quaker study center in Wallingford.
