Community members are invited to join a spring discussion series of “The New Jim Crow,” the bestseller that examines America’s use of mass incarceration – disproportionately of African-American men – as a new incarnation of the restrictions on individual liberties and opportunities imposed by Jim Crow laws. There will be two discussion groups, one meeting Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. and one meeting Sunday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m. The next meetings of the Thursday group are April 23 and May 7. Participants are welcome to attend individual sessions or the entire series.
