Eileen Flanagan, Quaker activist and author, speaks

Eileen Flanagan is board clerk of Earth Quaker Action Team, whose public witness helped convince PNC Bank to stop funding mountain-top removal coal mining. Her new book, Renewable: One Woman’s Search for Simplicity, Faithfulness, and Hope, tells the story of her midlife realization that she was not living up to her potential or her youthful ideals, and the journey that led her to handcuff herself to the White House fence. Eileen will speak in Bond Hall at Swarthmore College under the auspices of Swarthmore Friends Meeting. The public is invited to attend.
